Terms and Conditions

Bookings, Deposits and Conditions

The prices we quote on our website or in our brochure are correct at the time of compilation but subject to change. We will be pleased to provide you with a detailed personal estimate upon receipt of all your needs for the day. All prices are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

Provisional bookings
Provisional bookings are held for two weeks. At that point, we require written confirmation and a deposit. If these are not received the booking will be cancelled and date released.

Deposit
A deposit of £500 is required to secure a booking. This is not refundable in the event of cancellation.

Interim Payments
An estimated bill will be sent to you eight weeks ahead of the wedding day, this must be paid four weeks later, in other words at least four weeks before the wedding day. Final adjustments will be made on the actual day.

Final payment
At the end of the event, we shall give you the final invoice which will take into account the payments you have made earlier and the extra costs incurred above and beyond the previous estimate. This should be settled on the day.

Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges as a proportion of the total estimated cost of the event.

  • If cancellation is received at least six months before the event then 25% shall be due.
  • If cancelled between 3 and 6 month, then 50% shall be due.
  • If cancelled less than three months ahead of the event, you shall be liable to pay us the 100% full estimated cost of the event.

Reductions for children's meals
Children under the age of 12 years will be charged for at half adult rate for the wedding breakfast or any other meal or special child menu rate if appropriate.

Room hire charges
There is not normally an additional charge for room hire, but we need to levy one where rooms are being reserved for your party's exclusive use throughout the day or if the number in your party is low. We shall discuss this with you and quote any applicable charge in advance.

Confirmation of arrangements
You will need to confirm your menu and drinks package at least ten weeks before the event.

Ten days before the wedding, we shall require final numbers of guests from you. This is the number for which we will cater.

Table Plan
You will need to supply us with two copies of your table plan. One is for display; the second is for our use. You should mark on our copy details of any guests who may have special requirements such as gluten free, vegetarian menus, other special diets, or places to be reserved for children, high chairs or wheelchairs.

Food Allergies
Our kitchen handles nut products and therefore you should assume there is the risk of menu items containing traces of nuts even where nuts are not specifically included. We do not accept any responsibility in respect of nut allergies. We cannot warrant that our food products do not contain genetically modified ingredients.

Smoking restrictions
The Plough Inn is a no smoking environment and we ask for your total commitment to ensuring this law is adhered to by all your guests.

Behaviour of guests
You will be held responsible for any damage to the Inn caused by your guests and for the reasonable conduct of those attending. We reserve the right to terminate any event in the event of unreasonable behaviour. We recommend you take out wedding insurance and will be pleased to discuss this with you.
